About SGI

SGI Mission Statement:
To serve as a small business owner’s “one-stop-shop” resource for advertising, marketing and public relations efforts.  Our goal is to increase sales and customer loyalty by showing our customers how to “smoke the competition and glide to higher profits.”

Our Business:

Smokey Spencer founded Smokus Glydus (nearly a decade ago) to serve as the small business owner’s resource for advertising ideas, marketing efforts and public relations campaigns.

Covered the 1992 Presidential race as a reporter for the Villager Newspaper.

Covering the Clinton race was a career highlight.

Starting my own community newspaper was a childhood dream.

What a time in Parker to start a newspaper from scratch!

"Gliding" thru the air & dunking led to my high school nickname, Smokus Glydus.

Smokus Glydus was my other nickname as a high school basketball player where we won the state championship.

The Weekly News Chronicle was an immediate success in Parker.

My weekly column was often the topic of local debate.

"Growth versus no-growth" debates ruled during the mid-90s in Parker.
